Climate Ledger Africa is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering grassroots communities to build climate resilience while generating sustainable climate wealth. We support communities to design and implement bankable climate-smart projects that attract funding from donors, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and impact investors.

• Sustainable Livelihoods and Income Generation: Communities participate in climate-smart enterprises such as sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, ecosystem restoration, and circular economy initiatives. These projects generate new sources of income, helping households improve their livelihoods while protecting the environment.                                    
• Access to Climate Finance: Many grassroots communities have innovative climate solutions but lack access to funding. We help communities design bankable projects and connect them with impact investors, corporate social responsibility programmes, and development partners, unlocking financial resources that would otherwise be out of reach.                   
• Skills Development and Capacity Building: Our programmes provide hands-on training, technical support, and climate entrepreneurship skills. Community members gain practical knowledge in project management, sustainable production, and financial management, empowering them to run climate-smart enterprises successfully.                     
• Community Climate Fund Reinvestment: A portion of retained earnings from successful projects is reinvested into expanding existing projects or funding new climate initiatives.                            
• Youth and Women Empowerment: We prioritise the inclusion of youth, women, and vulnerable groups, ensuring they play an active role in climate solutions and benefit from new economic opportunities. This strengthens social inclusion and promotes equitable development.                            
• Stronger Climate Resilience: Our projects help communities adapt to climate change by improving food security, water management, ecosystem health, and sustainable land use, reducing vulnerability to climate shocks.

• Botswana – supporting community-led climate initiatives focused on sustainable agriculture, ecosystem conservation, and water resilience.

As a pan-African organisation, our long-term goal is to expand our programmes to other regions of the continent, including:
