The Executive Team leads Climate Ledger Africa’s mission to build climate-resilient, financially empowered communities. They drive strategy, partnerships, program implementation, and organisational growth across Africa.

Tatenda is an investment professional and economist driving transformative sustainability initiatives across Africa. He holds advanced degrees in Financial Economics, Development Practice, and Economics, along with certifications in project management, sustainable finance, financial modelling, and energy economics. His experience spans climate finance, policy development, and economic research, supported by his service on the Zimbabwe Economics Society Council. Tatenda is passionate about empowering governments, the private sector, and communities to design climate-smart programmes, access green capital, and build resilient, sustainable futures. His work bridges climate challenges with financial innovation to unlock meaningful climate investment opportunities across the continent.

Tatenda Andrew Mabhande

Founder & Executive Director

A Rural & Urban Planner and Disaster Risk Management specialist with experience in local government, real estate planning, & community-focused development work. He holds a degree in Rural & Urban Planning from the University of Zimbabwe and is currently pursuing master’s degrees in Disaster Risk Management (Bindura University of Science & Technology) & Development Studies (University of Botswana). James has worked with the Ruwa Local Board, contributed to district master plans for Chimanimani, Shurugwi, & Chipinge, & served as a planner for Guest & Tanner Real Estate. His research includes published work on colonial land laws & compensation in communal areas, as well as ongoing studies on vulnerability and risk assessment for cyclone-prone settlements in Zimbabwe.
